More press coverage for the film yesterday: a story about the film made the front page of mynorthwest.com, and became the second most popular article of the day.
What intrigued me most about the piece is the comments it received, which look like this:
I’d like to honestly try and understand how riding naked poses a direct threat to freedom and capitalism. If you are someone with a strong negative opinion about the ride, and willing to be interviewed, I need to hear from you. Please drop a note to producer Lisa Cooper, [email protected], with a summary of your views on the cyclists, and let’s talk.
Ah, the sweet anonymity of blog commentary. (sigh) The degree of anger expressed in them is beyond my understanding. I vow to not let them bother me and to continue to find as much joy as I can in life, including loving my body – naked or clothed.
Good luck with the film! I think it could be a big hit and predict that people will flock to it out of curiosity and awe. Kudos to all the fearless folks who ride and especially to your four first-timers who’ve got the nerve to do so on film!
Hi Cheri,
I think of the the reasons Facebook has been so successful is that, to a large degree, they have succeeded in making it a network of real people, who post under their real name. Anonymity is useful for many things, but having thoughtful conversations with strangers in public forums isn’t one of them.
Thanks for your encouragement with the film. I share your assessment and echo your applause for the four participants. They’re brave and it’s an honor to work with them in making this film.
