Beyond Naked will screen on Saturday, April 5, 2014 at 7pm at the second annual Made in Seattle: Homegrown Documentary Series. The venue will be the Rainier Valley Cultural Center in Columbia City, a beautiful 258-seat theater with a digital HD projector that will definitely make it a great place to watch the film.

Beyond Naked is now available to stream on IndieFlix – the NetFlix of independent film

We’re thrilled to announce that Beyond Naked is now available on IndieFlix, the NetFlix of independent film. IndieFlix is based here in Seattle, which we like very much. Plus, a subscription is just $6.99/month, and you can cancel at any time. For that money, you can watch hundreds of other films, rather than just renting or purchasing Beyond Naked on demand (although you can also do either here.) Options are good. Enjoy!

Beyond Naked screens at the Celluloid Film Festival on Bainbridge

The filmmakers and cast had a blast continuing our festival run last weekend at the Celluloid Bainbridge Film Festival. All but Marlene Value were in attendance at the historic Lynwood Theater on Bainbridge Island for a memorable screening.

The festival features films with a Bainbridge connection, and our’s was Steve Stolee, a Bainbridge-based filmmaker who was a member of Beyond Naked’s parade-day camera crew.

We’re grateful to the organizers for including the film in a great line-up at this year’s event.

Beyond Naked screens at Tacoma Film Festival on Oct. 6

I once drove all the way to Tacoma to watch The Cove. That’s where I discovered The Grand Cinema. It’s a throwback to another time, perfectly preserved. I remember thinking to myself, “I want to watch one of my films here some day.”

Well, that day has arrived. Beyond Naked is an official selection of the Tacoma Film Festival, and will screen on October 6 at The Grand Cinema, at 9pm. Grab your tickets here.

Please join us for the screening and audience Q&A afterward. At least two of the cast members, Jeff and Emily, will be present as well. Lisa and I will likely head to a nearby pub for drinks after and you’re invited.

Beyond Naked wins Best Documentary Feature at STIFF

We’re thrilled to announce that Beyond Naked has won Best Documentary Feature and the associated $1,000 jury prize at the Seattle True Independent Film Festival! Lisa and I were traveling back from Ashford, Wa. where we had a screening of one of our shorts earlier in the day, when we got the news in a text from cast member Jeff Hedgepeth, who represented us at the awards ceremony. We made it back in time for the STIFF party at Metropole.

I can’t say enough good things about STIFF and the organizers Tim Vernor and Willard Chase, as well as all the other volunteers who made the festival happen. Thank you STIFF for making our dream of screening Beyond Naked in front of a local audience come true.

One option left to see Beyond Naked: STIFF festival pass

All tickets are gone for Beyond Naked, but there’s still one way left for you to get in the door. That’s to purchase a $50 all-access STIFF festival pass. As of today, April 20, there are 78 of these left. It seems like a lot money for one movie, but consider it gets you into both screenings on Saturday afternoon and on Monday night, so that’s like paying $25 per ticket. And to be able to say you were at the premiere? Priceless.
